MUSEUM SHOWS & EVENTS

THE LOST WORLD: THE ART OF MINNIE EVANS

THROUGH APRIL 19th 2026

HIGH MUSEUM OF ART

ATLANTA GA

The High’s presentation reprises that 1966 title, honoring Evans’s interest in biblical and ancient civilizations while foregrounding the spiritual and historical circumstances of her extraordinary life. More than one hundred of her artworks are presented in a range of contexts, from the extrasensory experiences of her visions to the double-edged realities of her life in the Jim Crow South. Her drawings, beautiful and complex, thus become portals into her “lost world.”

MINNIE EVANS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

DECEMBER 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

CAMERON MUSEUM OF ART

WILMINGOTN NC

Bring the whole family to CAM for a Saturday of creative fun as we celebrate the life and legacy of visionary Wilmington artist Minnie Evans through art! We’ll be joined by guest artist Jameka Purdie. This drop-in program is designed for all ages—kids, teens, and adults—to make art together.

Younger visitors can create birthday cards for Minnie to display in Minnie’s Gatehouse on CAM’s grounds and make artwork inspired by her use of symmetry.

A family-friendly tour of the exhibitions will be held at 11:30 AM, inviting all ages to discover connections between Minnie’s work and CAM’s galleries. See original works by Minnie herself in the exhibition Cameron Art Museum: The Collection.
